Engg student arrested for peddling ganja

The city police arrested two men, including an engineering student, for allegedly supplying ganja in Pallavaram on Monday.

The Pallavaram police received a tip-off that ganja is being supplied to college students. Accordingly, officers in plainclothes kept an eye on the students outside a private college in Pallavaram.

They noticed one student gather a few others in an isolated area and lonely place and distribute ganja to them. The youth was then nabbed. He was later identified as Praveen Kumar (21) from Theni. 

During interrogation, he admitted that he bought the ganja packet from a Mohamed Asar (20) from Pallavaram. The police then arrested both of them, seized 200 g of ganja and remanded them in judicial custody.
