A senior official from the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) said more than 150 candidates are expected to participate in the session that would start at 9.30 am and go on till 4.30 pm.

On Friday, counselling would be held for the students from the ex-servicemen category during which about 1,000 candidates are expected to participate. On the same day, counselling to vocational courses would also begin in which about 1,500 candidates are expected to take part. Applicants belonging to the eminent sportspersons category would attend counselling from October 2.

The official said counselling for general category students would begin on October 8. According to him, the general category counselling would go on till October 27. “Students will be called according to their cut-off marks which were released on September 28,” he added.

This year, about 1.40 lakh engineering seats are available in a little over 500 engineering colleges in the State.
