Dr R Velraj is Anna University Vice-Chancellor

After nearly four months, Anna University got a new Vice-Chancellor with Governor Banwarilal Purohit appointing Dr R Velraj as the institution chief for three years with effect from the date of his assumption of office.

The previous Vice-Chancellor Surappa’s tenure ended on April 11, 2021. The government, on the same day, had constituted a three-member convener committee to look into the administrative activities of Anna University in the absence of a vice-chancellor.

Velraj has teaching experience of 33 years and has worked as Director, Institute for Energy Studies Anna University, Chennai, and Director, Anna University-FRG Institute for CAD/CAM, presently working as Professor, Institute of Energy Studies, Anna University.
