The victims escaped with minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital after treatment. 

Around 4 pm, Sidharth lost control of the vehicle as he  alegedly fell asleep and hit the two-wheeler riders from behind. The victims lost balance and fell on the road. 

Passers-by rushed to their rescue and sent them to hospital. On information, the Pondy Bazaar traffic investigation police rushed to spot and inquired Siddharth and found that he is the son of famous sexologist Kamaraj and that he fell asleep while driving the car. 

Police booked him for careless driving and released him on self-bail.

Police clarified that Sidharth was not under the influence of alcohol.
