Dad forces girl into marriage, arrested

A 38-year-old man was arrested for forcing her minor daughter into marriage. The accused, S Ramesh of Gowripet Avadi, separated from his wife Devi (36) a decade ago and got his first daughter married a few years ago.

While Ramesh fixed the wedding for her second daughter a month ago, she reportedly to have eloped. So, Ramesh decided to marry his third daughter, a 17-year-old girl, to the same groom. Devi, who came to know about this, alerted the Avadi all-women police who rescued the girl and arrested Ramesh. He was remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday.
