The complainant alleged that Tondiarpet police colluded with the accused and did not investigate complaints lodged by her husband, after they allegedly made several attempts on Manikandan’s life. Manikandan was later found hanging in his house on January 23 and later his close associate, Pensilliah, was found murdered on May 5.

“Pensilliah was a close associate of my husband and he knew everything about the murder of my husband by Nagammal, Gandhimathi and associates Mohan alias Mohan Raj, Kumar alias Olli Kumar and Devi. To destroy evidence they murdered Pensilliah,” Gomathi, a resident of Kesavan Street, Tondiarpet, said. She urged the commissioner to hand over the case to CB-CID.
