Corporation staffer attacked for recommending COVID test

A temporary staff of Chennai Corporation was attacked by eight men when he allegedly approached them requesting them to take COVID test in Ayanavaram on Tuesday.

R Siva (44) of Ayanvaram, who works as ground staff in Zone 8 (Anna Nagar), approached a shop owner, Sathish alias Saravanan, to take a COVID test on Tuesday afternoon. However, Sathish was allegedly irked and started attacking Siva along with seven others. With injuries, Siva was rescued and admitted to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. Based on his complaint, the Ayavaram police registered a case and are investigating.
