Corpn demolishes illegal building in Mogappair

The Greater Chennai Corporation on Tuesday demolished an illegal building at Golden George Nagar in Mogappair following a Madras High Court order.

According to a corporation official, the building was constructed at the end of Erode Jaganathan Street, Golden George Nagar, at Mogappair in 2007 when it was Ambattur Municipality. A complaint was raised by an adjacent landowner against the illegal construction on the street and the case went to the Madras High Court. The court directed the Corporation to demolish the illegal structure as per the Town and Country Planning act. The structure was demolished on Tuesday as per the court order.
