Cobra found inside empty beer bottle, residents panic

A cobra was spotted inside an empty beer bottle near Chengalpattu Medical College on Tuesday. By the time a snake catcher could reach the spot, the snake managed to wriggle out of the bottle and disappear.

Passers-by found the cobra with its tail stuck inside the bottle and struggling to come out at Pon Vilaintha Kalathur.


They immediately informed the Fire and Rescue Service. Sources said that the TNFRS cannot trap a snake on the road. According to the protocol, they can catch a snake only if it enters a house or a residential area.


As the public could not reach the Forest Department, they went to the snake catcher in the locality. But when they went back, the snake was nowhere to be seen.


The presence of the cobra has evoked panic among the residents of the area. They have taken precautions to prevent the snake from entering their houses.
