On Thursday, the legal and district revenue officer of Chennai Metro Rail Limited confirmed that, as per demands made by land owners whose lands will be acquisitioned for four Metro rail stations, three routes and depot, compensation will be provided to the extent of twice the market rate and the relief fund will be issued as per the new Land Acquisition Act.
The estimation of buildings will be calculated by PWD officials, the statement added further. Accepting the demands of 53 land owners on Wednesday, CMRL has explained that, “For the route expansion of CMRL in Tiruvallur district for three routes – Tollgate to WIMCO Nagar, Tollgate to Thangal and Gowri Ashram to Tiruvottiyur, for Four stations – Thangal, Gowri Ashram, Tiruvottiyur, WIMCO Nagar as well as for a metro depot at WIMCO Nagar, lands are being acquisitioned at Sathangadu, Tiruvottiyur and Ernavur.
