As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, the city might receive light rainfall in some areas in the next five days. The weather condition is to remain cloudy with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri and Tirupur districts of Tamil Nadu in the next 48 hours. RMC stated that several areas are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Nungambakkam was 37.0 degrees Celsius, while Meenambakkam recorded 37.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures recorded were 27.1 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam respectively. The rains led to about 1.5 degrees Celsius drop in the temperature than the normal average temperature in both the weather stations.
Several weather bloggers stated that the rains are to continue for the next five days, including widespread rainfall in the city and other isolated areas in the State.
