“The inquiry lasted for about four hours from 11 am to 3 pm and we asked him to give his explanation in writing,” said a senior police official. The official said the person from whose email ID Maridhas claimed to have received an acknowledgement for his mail to the News18 Group has refuted that it was not his official mail id.

“The complainant told us after inquiring with the staff concerned that the e-mail has been created and deleted immediately,” said the official. Responding to a query on his latest video that hash value had to be created for electronic gadgets before police seize them, the official said it is not possible to create hash value at the spot for the entire device. “We can create hash value for a file at the spot, but for the device we can do it only at the forensic lab. That’s why we seal it,” he explained.
