Cardiology block in RGGGH relocated as doc contracts virus

A 34-year-old cardiologist from Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

The hospital authorities at RGGGH said that the doctor is likely to have got infected from an external source and not through his patients. “The contact history and other travel details of the doctor are being verified. The contact history is uncertain as of now. However, we are certain that he has not contracted the infection from treating any COVID-19 positive patient within the hospital,” said Dr R Jayanthi, Dean, RGGGH. Meanwhile, hospital authorities have relocated the cardiology block for the time being to a different part of the hospital and disinfection works are being undertaken in the cardiology block.
