The accused, Ayyanar and Saran, suffered minor injuries and were remanded in judicial custody after treatment.

The car belongs to Thenmozhi of Tiruvanmiyur, who parked it in front of her house, on Monday night. She found the car missing on Tuesday morning and lodged a complaint at Tiruvanmiyur police station.

Meanwhile, police received information that a car with the same registration number was spotted near Kottivakkam and rushed to the spot. On seeing the policemen, the duo tried to speed away in the car. However, they lost control and crashed the vehicle into the median after which police secured them. The front portion of the car was damaged in the incident.
