The AIDWA leader said that Kalaiselvi (Dalit victim) was brutally murdered with a huge rock dropped on her head after being sexually assaulted. “The family members said that she was raped by more than two men, so the case can be altered as gang rape under the IPC section 376 (D) (gang rape), instead of 376 (rape),” she said. Vasuki also charged that several such cases had taken place in the past and urged the police to initiate steps and the government should distribute compensation to the victims. AIDWA state secretary P Suganthi. district secretary S Tamil Selvi and others were also present with Vasuki.
