Beach-Velachery MRTS to be suspended for 6 hours

MRTS services between Beach and Velachery stations would be suspended for six hours from 7.50 am on Sunday, owing to line block permitted for track maintenance works on MRTS section between Chennai Beach and Velachery Railway Stations.

Consequently, 18 pairs of EMU services between Chennai Beach and Velachery would be cancelled, a statement issued by Southern Railway said. Trains leaving Chennai Beach at 8 am, 8.20 am, 8.40 am, 9 am, 9.20 am, 9.40 am, 10 am, 10.20 am, 10.40 am, 11 am, 11.20 am, 11.40 am, 12 noon, 12.20 pm, 12.40 pm, 1 pm, 1.20 pm and 1.40 pm would be cancelled. 

The first Chennai Beach – Velachery EMU after the block will leave Chennai Beach at 2 pm. In the return direction, trains leaving Velachery at 8.10 am, 8.30 am, 8.50 am, 9.10 am, 9.30 am, 9.50 am, 10.10 am, 10.30 am, 10.50 am, 11.10 am, 11.30 am, 11.50 am, 12.10 pm, 12.30 pm, 12.50 pm, 13.10 pm, 13.30 pm and 3.50 pm would be cancelled. The first Velachery – Chennai Beach EMU after the block will leave Velachery at 2.10 pm.
