Anna University receives hoax bomb threat

CHENNAI: Anna University received a hoax mail stating that bombs had been planted at the campus.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) officials conducted a thorough search at the Anna University campus following the mail threat.

According to the police, an unidentified person had sent a hoax bomb threat to Anna University through an email on Saturday.

The local police along with the BDDS conducted an inspection with sniffer dogs and found the threat to be a hoax.

A case has been registered and a search is on to trace the sender of the mail.
