Andhra man arrested for trafficking gold worth Rs 38 lakh from Saudi Arabia to Chennai

Chennai customs officers arrested a 22-year-old Andhra man in Chennai International Airport for trafficking gold worth Rs 38 lakh through a bluetooth speaker box from Saudi Arabia to Chennai.

Therefore, they involved in active monitoring and checking. Saadhik Sheikh, a resident of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh landed Chennai from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. While the officers were conducting the drill, Saadhik was questioned.

As his answers were not convincing, the police checked his baggage. The baggage consisted of a Bluetooth speaker box, which contained 11 gold bars. 1.1kg of gold worth Rs 38 lakh was confiscated from him. The customs officers arrested Saadhik and an enquiry is underway for further details.
