8 additional judges take oath at HC

The Chief Justice of Madras High Court Amreshwar Pratap Sahi administered the oath of office to eight additional judges on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the elevation of nine additional judges – Justice PT Asha, Justice M Nirmal Kumar, Justice Subramonium Prasad, Justice N Anand Venkatesh, Justice GK Illanthiriyan, Justice Krishnan Ramasamy, Justice C Saravanan, Justice B Pugalendhi and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy - as permanent judges on February 12.


However, on the same day, the collegium recommended the transfer of Justice Subramonium Prasad to Delhi High Court. The Central government had notified the appointments of nine Additional Judges as permanent judges on March 13.
