7 CISF men at airport test positive

Seven Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at the city airport tested positive for coronavirus and were admitted in a private hospital in Chennai on Saturday.

Sources said all the CISF personnel who were working in the Chennai airport were subjected to coronavirus test on Friday. In the results that came on Saturday morning, it was confirmed that seven of them had been infected by the virus. Soon, they were admitted to a private hospital in Nandambakkam.

The 15 other personnel who were in close contact with these seven were sent to quarantine and would be tested again. Following the development, the CISF office in Chennai airport was sanitised completely and a few rooms that were used by them was closed by the Health Department, sources said.
