41-year-old police head constable ends life in Mangadu

A 41-year-old police head constable was found dead at his house in Mangadu on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased, D Rajasekar, of Vasanthapuram, a 2003 batch personnel, was attached to the crime wing of the Poonamallee police station.

He previously worked as a driver for Assistant Commissioner and Inspector, the police said. Rajasekar’s wife, Mahalakshmi, found him hanging from the ceiling of their son’s room on Tuesday and rushed him to a private hospital in Iyyapanthangal but he has declared brought dead.

On information, the police sent his body for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.

The police said there was no suicide note and preliminary investigation revealed that there were no family issues. It is not clear why Rajasekar resorted to the extreme step, said the police. He is survived by his wife and two college-going sons.
