4 men who fled after snatching ATM cards held

Police arrested a group of robbers who attacked two men and snatched their mobile phones and ATM cards near Somangalam on Tuesday night.

The victims Suresh (35) and Parthasarathy (37) of Sriperumbudur are civil engineers and work with a new construction project in Somangalam. On Tuesday night after finishing the work, both of them were going towards Mudichur on a bike when four men on two bikes rammed against their bike and snatched mobile phones and ATM cards.

When the duo tried to fight back the gang attacked them with a knife and escaped from the spot. The onlookers informed the police and both of them were admitted to a private hospital.

The Somangalam police who registered a case tracked the snatchers to Anna Salai with the help of mobile signals. A special team of police who rushed to the spot and arrested Neelakandan (23) of Guduvanchery, Akash (27) of Porur, Murugesan (23) and Dinakumar (25) of Perambur. The police seized mobile phones and ATM cards from them. Further inquiry is on.
