On Wednesday evening, Minister Vellamandi Natarajan and MP P Kumar flagged off the bus services.

After a series of requests from tourists and passenger welfare forums and general public, the TNSTC was approached for support to operate buses who arrive at airport early in the morning. 

Accordingly, TNSTC has offered to operate bus services from the bus bay at arrival side from 4 am. Officials said that this was a hectic time for the passengers arriving from Malaysia and Sri Lanka as they land at Tiruchy airport between 3 am and 5 am.

A bus from airport to Karur and Thanjavur each would be operated at 4 am daily. While another bus for Karur would be operated at 4 pm. Similarly, bus for Central bus stand Tiruchy would be operated at 9.45 am daily. Plans are on to increase bus services to and from the airport, said an official.
