384 allotted MBBS/BDS seats on Friday

As many as 384 candidates were allotted seats for medical and dental courses under the general category at counselling held at Jawaharlal Nehru Outdoor Stadium on Friday. So far, 1,714 candidates have appeared for the general category counselling to MBBS and BDS courses in the State.

A total of 472 candidates were called for counselling, of which 453 attended. As many as 148 seats were allotted in government colleges for MBBS courses and 217 MBBS seats under the self-financing category on Friday. As many as 19 candidates were absent for the counselling session.

Of a total of 859 seats open for MBBS courses in government colleges, 711 MBBS seats lie vacant for MBBS courses in government colleges. Among 945 available seats in self-financing colleges, 728 seats are available for MBBS courses.

Meanwhile, for BDS courses in government colleges, 146 seats were opened and 19 seats were filled and a total of 127 seats are vacant. Counselling for 985 BDS seats in self-financing colleges will begin soon. Of the total participants who attended counselling on Friday, 67 candidates are on the waitlist.
