3 kg gold worth Rs 1 cr recovered at Chennai airport

Customs officials at the airport here today recovered three kg gold worth Rs one crore which was allegedly being smuggled by a 55-year old woman.

The woman who arrived from Kuala Lumpur was found to have concealed the precious metal in her person, airport officials said.

The woman has been detained and investigation is underway, they said.
