24-yr-old misbehaves with 2 girls, arrested

The police arrested a 24-year-old man under Pocso Act for misbehaving with two minor girls near Sriperumbudur on Tuesday. The accused, Kannan, is a mason from Ranipet district.

The police said that Kannan used to visit the construction site in a village near Sriperumbudur often. On Tuesday evening, he noticed two minor siblings alone in the house near the site. Under the influence of alcohol, he barged into the house and misbehaved with the girls.

The children managed to escape and when their parents returned in the evening, they informed them of the incidents of the day. The parents filed a complaint at the Sriperumbudur all-women police station and they arrested Kannan under Pocso Act.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a 23-yearold in Tambaram for marrying a 16-yearold girl on Thursday. The police said that Nivendran of Erode was working in a restaurant in Selaiyur. He was in a relationship with a minor girl in the locality and two months ago they went missing after getting married secretly. On Thursday, the police arrested Nivendran from Erode and rescued the girl.
