The victim, Senthilnathan (37), a software engineer, is a resident of an apartment at Balaiyar garden in Madipakkam. In March, Senthilnathan had left home and gone to his native in Ariyalur. A few days ago, when he returned, he found that the front door was broken open and the 20-sovereign ornaments, a DSLR camera, laptop and his two-wheeler were looted by the robbers.

Senthilnathan filed a complaint with the Madipakkam police. Officers who registered a case were trying to trace the robbers with the help of CCTV footage. The police confirmed that it was Sathish (24) of Thousand lights and Surya (20) of Villivakkam who were involved in the robbery. Both of them have been arrested several times earlier in connection with robbery cases. On Wednesday, the police arrested them and recovered the valuables. After an inquiry, they were remanded in judicial custody and were sent to Puzhal prison.
