2 die as bike collides with lorry in Sriperumbudur

Two persons were killed in an accident after their two-wheeler collided head-on with a lorry near Sriperumbudur on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Shankar (24) and his friend Chinnathambi (22) of Maganam village.

On Wednesday evening, both of them were travelling on the Tambaram-Sriperumbudur Road on a two-wheeler when it collided head-on with a lorry. In the impact, both of them suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital. They died there later. The police are searching for the lorry driver,.

Meanwhile, another bike-borne duo was fatally knocked down by a van in Nolambur on Wednesday. The deceased, Ganesan and Babu of Gandhi Nagar in Redhills, were returning home from Porur on Tambaram-Maduravoyal bypass road when a van coming from behind knocked them down at 9 pm. While Ganesan died on the spot, Babu was rushed to KMC, where he died without responding to treatment. The police have arrested the van's drivers Selvaraj (45) and Mani (57).
