Sources said 26 flight were operated from the airport on Tuesday and all of them had fewer number of passengers. The flights to Kochi, Rajamundry, Kadapah, Guwahati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Port Bliar were cancelled due to lack of passengers. Flights to Delhi, Bengaluru, Bhuvaneswar, Thiruvanathapuram, Madurai, Tiruchy, Kovai, Thoothukudi, Salem, Hyderabad and Kolkata operated with very few passengers on board.

Meanwhile, 446 Indians reached Chennai from England, Oman and Vietnam on Monday night. Sources said that the first flight landed from England with 138 Indians, including two children. Later 180 Indians from Oman landed and with 116 Indians, a special fight reached from Vietnam.
