CHENNAI: The price of gold in Chennai has decreased by Rs 320 per sovereign on Tuesday (December 31), and the yellow metal is being sold at Rs 56,880 per sovereign.

Accordingly, gold price per gram has decreased by Rs 40 with a gram now costing Rs 7,110.

Gold prices have shown slight fluctuations lately.

The gold price saw a rise on December 30 after remaining stable on December 28 and 29.

The price of silver decreased by Rs 2 and is being sold at Rs 98 per gram.
