Chennai
The company has opened a newly developed outlet in Chennai and is set to roll out 500 outlets by the end of 2022. The plan is to establish the brand in busy locations across five Southern states – Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala. The options available to consumers includes everything from snacks to sweets, cakes, sandwiches, pastries and chaat items. The idea is to offer smaller meals for grab-and-goers.
The concept is the brainchild of Manu Ranjith, MD of CK Foods (P) Ltd.
He says, “It took nearly eight months for us to go live with this new concept snacking food store. Consumers are shifting away from the traditional snacking definition to include a more expanded variety of options.”
“This is majorly being spearheaded by millennials who, generally, have a passion for food exploration and like to try new flavours. The Garden store was introduced to serve this purpose. I am confident this will become a preferred option for a snacking destination for consumers across age groups.”
Garden is a 35 year old brand and marketer of farsan, namkeens, wafers and sweets. It was acquired by CavinKare in August 2009. With more than 100 SKUs over the years, Garden has ventured into a vegetarian retail offering format. Today, the conglomerate CavinKare boats of a turnover of over Rs 1,600 crore.
