Chennai

An actor who has proved his mettle time and again, Anil Kapoor simply seems to be getting better with age. His craft apart, the actor refuses to age and is more often, but his own admission, mistaken as her daughter Sonam Kapoor’s elder brother. But there’s no magic potion he consumes. The actor is a fitness freak and a very disciplined one at that. Read on to find out his fitness routine.

Sweating it out

The actor, despite his busy schedule, hits the gym as often as he can. He works out for two to three hours. However, he doesn’t follow a fixed routine and changes it according to the demands of the role he plays in films. He starts with cardio for 10 to 20 minutes, while free weights, sit-ups, crunches, chair squats, and push-ups are part of his typical workout. Anil loves cycling and jogging too. Also, being an early riser, he avoids late-night parties and is in bed by 11 pm.

On his plate

Although the Punjabi in him does indulge in sinful treats occasionally, he largely avoids sugar, junk food and prefers a lot of dairy products. He eats five to six meals a day, all of which are in small proportions. Veggies, dal, oats, fish, broccoli, celery, chicken and protein shakes are an integral part of his diet. For breakfast, he usually prefers eggs and toast with a glass of fresh juice or black coffee. He keeps sipping on water, fresh juices and shakes to keep himself hydrated throughout the day.
