Twitter floods with birthday wishes for Simbu

TR Silambarasan or Simbu as he is known popularly, turned 34 years on February 3. On his birthday, Twitter was flooded with wishes from the celebs in Tamil industry. He has a strong fan following among the youth of Tamil Nadu and other southern states especially because of the youth-oriented roles he has played in his films.

The social media was full of good wishes from fans and colleagues from the industry on Friday. The tag ‘HappyBirthdaySTR’ was trending in Twitter on Friday. Fans were also sharing photos of the actor in films, events and other public appearances. He gained fame with his 2010 film, Vinnaithaandi Varu vaayaa directed and written by Gautham Menon.

The movie went on to become a Tamil ‘cult classic’ film. His last film, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, that released on November 2016 became a big hit and was praised by critics alike. Along with being an actor, he is also known for raising his voice on various issues in the society. Recently, he had grabbed headlines for his opinion on jallikattu row.
