Fans were left wondering if Suriya’s next big flick, Soorarai Pottru also will have an an OTT release. However, in a recent online interaction, the actor firmly stated that the movie will first be screened in theatres. His statement comes at a time when other films including Penguin have opted to take the OTT route while the makers of the supernatural thriller, Andhaghaaram, produced by Atlee, are in talks with Netflix.

Directed by Sudha Kongara of Irudhi Suttru fame, Soorarai Pottru is loosely based on the life of Air Deccan owner founder GR Gopinath and stars Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu and Paresh Rawal in important roles. The film marks the southern debut of popular Bollywood producer Guneet Monga who is co-producing this project.
