‘Pudhupettai’ fame Tamil actor Bala Singh passed away

Veteran actor Bala Singh, who is known for his roles in movies like Pudhupettai, NGK, Ullasam, Virumaandi, Saamy passed away in Chennai Vijaya hospital on Wednesday.

The actor, who began his acting career through theaters gained popularity after his commendable negative role in 1985 Tamil flick ‘Avatharam’. Actor Nasser’s debut film as a director took Bala’s career to a next level. He has also acted in a few Tamil serials. 

For the youngsters, Bala Singh shines in their memories through his role as politician ‘Anbu’ in Dhanush starrer ‘Pudhupettai’. The film, which is now seen as an under-rated cult had Bala play a pivotal role in it.

The actor was last seen in Arya’s ‘Magamuni’ in which he was seen playing a politician.

The actor’s last rites are said to be performed in Nagercoil. His mortal remains is now kept in his house in Virugambakkam in Chennai.
