What is the Ramp Camp all about?

The Ramp Camp is a platform that helps kids bring out the fashionista in them. The workshops provide training in a fun, interactive atmosphere and encourage children to shed their fears. The workshops are followed by a Facebook voting process, selecting the top 20 candidates from each city for the auditions, from which the city-wise winners are selected. The top 25 finalists from across the country will get an opportunity to walk at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2016. It is not just restricted to the fashion part of it. The initiative gives them an opportunity for holistic growth by exposure to a wide audience, something that also develops their self-confidence and sheds inhibitions. It eventually helps them in building a strong personality.

How easy or difficult is it to work with kids?

Working with kids makes you experience the most honest and positive form of energy. If they don’t like something, they’re not going to do it. There are no pretentions and whatever they do and say is straight from the heart, qualities that are a rarity these days.

How has the whole experience been for you personally?

It has reversed my aging process. When you spend time with kids, you revisit your own childhood and there is so much satisfaction that you get at the end of the day. It’s also been extremely rewarding because I’ve had parents come up to me and express how they realised talents and facets of their kids they never knew existed.
