Priyanka Chopra’s recent lecture on ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling - Chasing a Dream’ at Penguin Random House India’s annual event has been going viral across social media platforms.

Videos from the speech that have the actress addressing a host of issues from nepotism, sexism and Padmavati to encouraging women to stand up to bullying, have garnered over 4 million views.

However, a certain section wasn’t quite pleased with the publishing house’s choice of speaker. Several users wondered if the Quantico actor was the most deserving to speak at the event.

A few others said she is cut off from reality as she views things “sitting on her ivory tower”. A user wrote, “The real glass ceiling: the idea that women are only of public interest if they're beauty-queens or actors.” Another said, “Penguin choosing Priyanka Chopra is like Sivakumar being asked to inaugurate music festivals. Sindhu Bhairavi was a movie and Sivakumar moved his mouth while Yesudas sung.”
