Nayanthara Denies Playing Queen Velu Nachiyar In Biopic

Over the last few days, the internet and social media was abuzz with reports of Nayanthara playing Queen Velu Nachiyar in a biopic. It was also speculated that the project will be directed by Susi Ganesan and will go on floors early next year.

The actress, however, on Wednesday put all rumours to rest by denying the rumours. "Certain news stating that Nayanthara is a part of period film based on the life of Queen Velu Nachiyar has been circulating in some sections of the media. She categorically denies such a movie and we voice her opinion on the same to the media. This is a baseless rumour and on behalf of our client we request the media to verify the facts before publishing," said her PR team in a statement.

On the work front, Nayanthara has 'Nizhal', 'Netrikann' and 'Annaatthe' in various stages of production. She will also begin shooting for her boyfriend Vignesh Shivan's 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal' alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni.
