Earlier today, actor Vijay had reportedly met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister requesting him to allow 100 pc seating capacity for movies. While speculations went around that the CM is likely to give a nod to Vijay's plea, there were rumours that the movie is likely to be released on 13th January 2021, ahead of the Pongal holidays.

Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association's head Tirupur Subramanian had said the movie will be premiered in theatres on 13th January, though there wasn't any official confirmation from the makers' side.

Apparently, the decision of the full seating capacity for the movie is still awaited.

Whatever it is, this Pongal is going to be a massive celebration for 'Thalapathy' Vijay's fans as the long-awaited film was looking at April release this year before coronavirus played spoilsport.

The U/A certified film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Gouri Kishan and Shanthnu in pivotal roles.
