A few months ago, producer-actor Thiagarajan revealed that he has acquired the remake rights of Ayushmann Khurrana’s blockbuster Andhadhun. The film will have Prashanth reprising Ayushmann’s role.

While director Raja was roped in to direct the movie, there were rumours that the directed opted out of the project.

Meanwhile, it was announced that the 'Ponmagal Vandhaal' director JJ Fredrick will direct the movie. Considered as a comeback project for actor Prashanth, the actor earlier said that he has been hitting the gym hard and has lost quite a few kilos for the role. “I have undergone a transformation and getting into a good shape now. Though, I need to lose more weight before the project starts rolling soon. The date of the film’s launch and other cast will be announced soon."

The untitled movie is said to be bankrolled by the actor's father, Thiagarajan under his own banner 'StarMovies'.
