Vishal’s Chakra is still on the cards

Speculations were rife that Vishal’s upcoming film Chakra, which is rumoured to be the sequel to Irumbu Thirai 2, has been dropped due to budget constraints.

The actor-producer also left for London in the midst of Chakra’s shoot to be part of Thupparivaalan 2’s filming, directed by Mysskin, which further strengthened rumours.

However, when we contacted a source close to Vishal Film Factory, they told DT Next, “Chakra isn’t dropped and the shoot is on track. The film is in its final stages of shooting and Vishal is all set to resume shooting for the film soon.”

Talking about the release date of the film, the source added, “In fact, Chakra will hit the screens before Thupparivaalan 2. While the Mysskin directorial will release only in the second half of the year, Chakra will hit the screens for Tamil New Year weekend (in April). After wrapping up the shoot of Chakra, he will be taking off to shoot for Anand Shankar’s project overseas.”

Directed by MS Anand, Chakra has Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra playing female leads, and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
