Venkatesh in Telugu remake of Asuran?

Dhanush-Vetri Maaran’s recent outing, Asuran, garnered huge response on social media and went on to make the cash registers ring at the box office. Now, we hear that the film is all set to be remade in Telugu and actor Venkatesh is in talks to play the lead character.

A source in the know of things says, “The producer of the film, Kalaipuli S Thanu has decided to bankroll the Telugu version of it as well. He met Venkatesh a couple of times and discussed the possibilities of working together for the project. However, the makers are yet to sign official agreement.” Venkatesh was one of the first Telugu actor’s to watch Asuran and appreciate the cast of the film.

Asuran was based on a popular Tamil novel Vekkai, written by Poomani. The film also featured Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, Karunas son Ken, Pasupatti and Aadukalam Naren in pivotal roles.
