Pawan apologises for tongue-in-cheek comment on Kuruvi’s success

Three days ago, at the 100th day celebration of Dhanush’s Asuran, actor Pawan who played the role of Venkatesan in the film made a controversial statement.

He said that 12 years ago, he was a part of Kuruvi’s 150th day celebration and added that he didn’t know if it was actually a success, but added that in the case of Asuran he is confident that the film has done well. Kuruvi starred Vijay in the lead role and was produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. Pawan’s comment did not go down well with Vijay and Udhay fans as well as party cadre, who lashed out at Pawan. In a recent interview Pawan apologised to the whole team of Kuruvi for his controversial statement. However, sources in tinsel-town tell us that the actor was reportedly threatened and was asked to issue an apology before the video could create more impact on social media.
