On Saturday, the actor took to his social media page to reveal the motion poster of his upcoming film, Pattas, along with the release date.  It was widely speculated that the film may clash with his father-in-law’s Darbar at the box office as a Pongal release in 2020. However, Dhanush had put an end to the rumours by announcing that the film will hit the screens on January 16. Written and directed by RS Senthil Kumar, the film is being produced and presented by Sathya Jyothi Films. Pattas will feature Dhanush in dual roles — father and son. The portion featuring Dhanush as the father will have actor Sneha as his partner, and Mehreen Pirzada has been signed as Dhanush’s partner for the son’s role. The actor also has two other projects lined up, one with director Mari Selvaraj who made Pariyerum Perumal last year and another with Karthik Subbaraj, which is in post production stage.
