CHENNAI: A few weeks ago, DT Next reported that Suriya 45 will go on floors in Chennai soon. On Monday, the makers of the film revealed that the film has commenced with a pooja ceremony. Helmed by RJ Balaji, Dream Warrior Pictures is backing the film.

AR Rahman has joined the crew and this film marks his fourth collaboration with Suriya after Sillunu Oru Kadhal, Aayudha Ezhuthu and 24. RJ Balaji, whose previous directorials include Mookuthi Amman and Veetla Vishesham, is currently busy with the pre-production of the yet-to-be-titled film. Suriya 45 is expected to be made on a high budget.

The film will go on floors in November and will be released in the second half of 2025.

Meanwhile, Suriya recently wrapped up shooting for Suriya 44, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He is expected to join the sets of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Karna in the middle of 2025.
