Touted as a continuation of the popular romantic drama Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, AR Rahman has been roped in to compose music for Gautham Menon’s short film, Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn, starring Trisha and Simbu. In a recent interaction, Trisha had revealed that Rahman was been working on its music.

The actress also took to her Instagram account and wrote, “Isaipuyal AR Rahman to score music for GVM’s Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn.” (sic)

Netizens were in for a surprise when the teaser of the short film was released recently on YouTube which showed Trisha reprising her role as Jessie from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Her character is seen motivating Simbu’s role as Karthik, a filmmaker, urging him to write and work on his filming projects. The short film was shot during lockdown at the lead stars’ respective homes with director Gautham guiding the duo via video calls. The release date for Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn will be notified soon by the makers.
