The first gold medalist of the day was J. Coleshiya clearing 5.15 metres in the U-14 girls long jump. This was her second gold medal in the games.
S. Mithravar cleared 54.03 metres in the boys U-16 shot put to bag the gold. V. Subha clocked 56.46 seconds to finish first in the 400 metres.
Completing 100 metres in 12.4 seconds R. Giridharani bagged the gold in the U-16 girls. B. Nithin came first with 10.96 seconds in the U-18 boys 100m.
In long jump for girls R. Punitha bagged the gold by clearing 5.83 metres in U-18 category.
