TIRUCHY: Actor Vijay’s TVK has followed the sentimental trend of launching poll campaigns in Tiruchy, with the newbie party set to kickstart the election campaign for the upcoming Assembly polls from the city on September 13.
Almost all the political parties choose the city for the commencement of every political move, including party conferences and election rallies.
Now, the new entrant Vijay has scheduled to start his election campaign from Tiruchy on September 13. The party insiders from the region said that the high command had instructed them to prepare for the election work, as president Vijay wanted to concentrate on the Delta region with the launch of the campaign. “We are asked to commence the preparations and the campaign for the election 2026 with ‘turning point’ city Tiruchy,” an office bearer from the region said.
He added that the September 13 tour will be a phase 1 campaign, which would culminate in Madurai. “Vijay would stay in Tiruchy on September 13 and 14 and cover the Karur district also. Each day, he would address two Assembly segments. Special importance has been given to he home constituency of the DMK’s senior minister, KN Nehru, and the constituency of minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi. The first round of the campaign would cover the constituencies of DMK bigwigs and subsequently, Vijay would visit the other segments,” said the party insider.
The rally would erase the ‘indoor politician’ image of TVK president actor Vijay, party leaders said.
