Former student sponsors 4 smart classrooms for Tiruvallur govt school at a cost of Rs 1.2 cr

The new classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, LED facilities and smart boards which provide a wholesome learning environment.

New smart classrooms at the Ulundai Government Higher Secondary School

CHENNAI: In news that brought cheer among people of Tiruvallur, a panchayat council chief has built four new smart classrooms at the Ulundai Government Higher Secondary School at his own expense.

According to a Daily Thanthi report, the school has nearly 180 students from surrounding areas, including Ulundai, Mappedu, Mudhukoor, A N Kandigai, Kilay, Thodugadu, and Namasivayapuram. Sadly, the students were struggling with lack of proper facilities and classrooms.

Following this, the panchayat council chief M K Ramesh, who is also a former student of the school, built the new classrooms at a cost of Rs 1.2 crores. The new classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, LED facilities and smart boards which provide a wholesome learning environment.

Apart from this, 19 CCTV cameras have also been installed throughout the school to ensure safety and security. The school's headmaster P Krishnan presided over the opening ceremony of the new smart classrooms.
