Lost and found office inaugurated at Chennai Central Metro

CHENNAI: The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), as part of its efforts to enhance commuter experience, inaugurated a dedicated ‘Lost and Found’ office at Central Metro station here on Saturday.

CMRL has been facilitating the return of lost articles to passengers through individual Metro stations. And as per the CMRL press note so far, 74% percent of lost items have been returned to its owners.

“With the launch of this centralised office at Chennai Central Metro station, passengers can now approach a single dedicated facility to retrieve their lost belongings,” stated the press note.

Through this, CMRL anticipates significantly improving commuter convenience, ensuring better accessibility, and providing a seamless passenger experience. Despite opening a dedicated facility, it has warned all passengers to keep their belongings safely, and that it would not be held responsible for any loss of items.

If any lost belongings are found, they may be retrieved through the respective station or at the centralised Lost and Found office.

The dedicated LFO office was inaugurated by Manoj Goyal, director (System and Operations), along with Gopinath Mallaya, chief advisor (Operations and Maintenance), S Satheesh Prabhu, general manager (O&M).
